Toyota Motor has recalled the bZ4X SUV, the first fully electric vehicle model in mass production, for service due to a hazard that could cause the wheels to come off.
Toyota Motor recalled a total of 2,700 vehicles to service centers and said 2,200 of the vehicles were in Europe, 260 in the United States, 110 in Japan and 20 in Canada.
POWERFUL MOTOR WITH ELECTRIFICATION EXPERIENCE
Toyota offers front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive electric motor options for the bZ4X. The front-wheel drive bZ4X features a responsive 150 kW electric motor. The vehicle, which produces 204hp of power and 266Nm of torque, will accelerate from 0-100km / h in 7.5 seconds and its top speed will be 160km / h.
The all-wheel drive bZ4X is equipped with 80 kW motors at the front and rear. With a maximum output of 218 hp and a torque of 337 Nm, the all-wheel drive bZ4X accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 6.9 seconds. The use of the front and rear engines has been adapted to make the average power consumption more efficient. When low driving torque is required, it is powered only by the front motors.
SPECIAL MODE AVAILABLE
The Toyota bZ4X model features X-MODE, the first on the market for a fully electric SUV and offers class-leading off-road capability. It features Grip Control riding modes at speeds below 20km / h in heavy snow / mud and below 10km / h in the most intense off-road driving. Thus, the bZ4X can achieve the best traction in all road conditions and continue on its way. While the driver concentrates on the steering wheel, the vehicle adjusts its speed on uphill, downhill or flat surfaces. The driver can also use Hill Descent Assist Control when driving downhill. Toyota bZ4X also has a water penetration depth of 500mm with its water resistant battery.
10 YEARS OR 1 MILLION KILOMETERS
Toyota’s all-electric SUV, the bZ4X, has a high-density 96-cell lithium-ion battery. The operating range of the 71.1 kWh battery is -30 to +60 ° C. Using Toyota’s first water-cooled battery, the bZ4X maintains its energy efficiency by ideally cooling each cell. The heating system, including the efficient and effective heating pump, keeps the batteries in the ideal operating range at sub-zero temperatures. Based on its superiority in the battery, Toyota guarantees that the battery will have at least 70 percent capacity for up to 10 years or 1 million kilometers of driving with its comprehensive maintenance programs. Driving 1 million kilometers is equivalent to recharging the battery from zero to 2200 times, or charging it once every 2 days for 10 years.
516 KM OF AUTONOMY WITH A SINGLE CHARGE
The European version of the Toyota bZ4X is designed to be charged smoothly even in low temperatures. The battery can be charged with a quick charge without compromising safety or durability. As a result, 80 percent capacity can be reached in about 60 minutes with a 150 kW fast charging system. The official WLTP measurement performance of the bZ4X proves that the vehicle is assertive in terms of range. The front-wheel drive model can travel up to 516 km with an efficiency ratio of 7 km / kW. The all-wheel drive version has a range of 470 km with an efficiency ratio of 6.3 km / kW.
