Karamehmet sold his car company to the Korean global giant

Last week we shared with you the news of the sale of a company of Mehmet Emin Karamehmet, the boss of Çukurova Holding. Within a week, we announce for the first time the second sale of Karamehmet to you, readers of the WORLD newspaper. Let’s first remember our first news, then we tell you about the new development. In the news we wrote on June 6, it was about the sale of Noksel, one of the largest pipe companies in Turkey, founded by Karamehmet in 1987.

In that news, a new partner arrived in Noksel, of which Karamehmet was the main shareholder, and Tersan Shipyard, one of the most important shipping companies not only in Turkey but also in Europe, became the new shareholder. In fact, from what I have learned, exclusive control of Noksel, which includes leading names from SDIF, has passed to Cantiere Tersan. When and under what conditions Noksel was contracted was not disclosed to the public. Noksel, of which Nokia is one of the founders, has 3 factories in Sakarya, Iskenderun and Murcia, Spain. We come to the second and new development. A major change was made in Maysan Mando, one of the first companies founded by Karamehmet. Karamehmet is buying 50 percent of its shares from South Korean Halla Group, one of the world’s leading automotive supplier companies. Therefore, the Korean company will now continue alone in Turkey.

The first shock absorber manufacturer in Turkey

Founded in 1969 under the name Maysan at the time, the company is known as the first company to produce shock absorbers in Turkey. Announcing her name by producing for companies such as Oyak Renault, Tofaş and Mercedes Benz Türk in 1976, Maysan joined Mando Corp., owned by the South Korean Halla group, in 1997. and the company name continued as Maysan Mando . Producing a wide range of shock absorbers for passenger cars, light commercial vehicles, buses and heavy trucks, as well as for railway and military applications, Maysan Mando derives the majority of its revenue from world-class companies. These companies include global brands such as Renault – Nissan, Ford, Hyundai, Kia, GM, Daimler AG, Iveco, Schmitz Cargobull, as well as Hyundai Assan, Oyak Renault, Mercedes Benz Türk, BMC, Ford Otosan, Fiat-Tofaş, Anadolu Isuzu, Otokar There are also many local manufacturers such as Karsan, Temsa Global, FNSS and Ege Industry.

It produced miles on Tesla’s spacecraft

Maysan Mando, one of the first automotive supplier companies to export to the United States, has sales in over 75 countries. Maysan Mando began manufacturing shock absorbers for the Tesla Roadster Concept, produced by the richest businessman in the world, Elon Musk, in 2019. Anıl Yücetürk, who was the general manager of Maysan Mando at the time, said: “Mando produced all 4 Tesla shock absorbers sent to space. The parts needed for the shock absorbers and other brake parts for the Tesla Mars-bound vehicle were produced in 24 different Mando factories, including the factory in Turkey. Like Maysan Mando, we produced the shaft, which is one of the important components of the shock absorber. Maysan Mando was ranked 187th in the Second ISO List with a turnover of 432 million lire in 2020.
